Need some cloth diaper advice?

After this whole pampers fiasco and me not liking any other brand of diapers I’ve decided it’s time to start using cloth diapers. My son is 14 months old so it’s quite late in the game for a change but I’m sure it will be interesting if nothing else!

I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Flip Diaper or the Bum Genius 3.0. What do you think? What is your brand of cloth diaper?
I forgot to also ask how much I need to get me started…or how much I need to buy to try it? Thanks!

FuzziBunz One Size Cloth Diaper

The award-winning and patented FuzziBunz reusable pocket-style diapering system ensures that babies stay dry, healthy and happy. Made with only the finest and most innovative materials, FuzziBunz diapers deter icky leaks, prevent painful diaper rash and keep baby looking and feeling good. When choosing the right cloth diaper for your baby, there is a lot to think about. One major choice today is choosing a One Size diaper or a Sized diaper. Use the chart below to help decide whether a One Size or Sized diaper is right for you and your baby. If a trim fitting diaper is important to you, then the Sized diapers may be best suited for you – most babies use only 2 sizes of diapers, Small and Medium. If a diaper that will last from birth to potty, and will stand up to three years of use or more is what you value (and you are willing to sacrifice some trimness for this), then the One Size may be your diaper of choice. The FuzziBunz One Size Diapers are the most adjustable and innovative one-size cloth diapers on the market today! Adjust the diapers to fit babies 7-35 pounds and get a snug fit every time with the button-adjusted waist and leg casings. The leg casings adjust to 8+ settings and the waist adjusts to 4+ settings. Never before has a pocket-style cloth diaper been SO adjustable! Includes – FuzziBunz One Size diaper with hip snaps (1 each) – Absorbent cotton 4 layer inserts (2 each Small, 2 each Medium/Large) – Replacement Elastic – Bonus (2 each) Features – Sturdy Snap

I currently use pampers but I would like to switch to cloth diapers. I have no time to deal with a diaper service nor the old fashion cloth diapers that my grandmother probably used. I have seen lots of websites with cloth diapers that promise easy use and leak free, but would like to see what other parents recommend. I need a cloth diaper that is as quick as a Pampers diaper and easy to wash. Thanks!

Question about cloth diapers…?

What is your favorite kind and brand of cloth diaper?

I see trucks belonging to uniform companies such as Aramark and Cintas drive by my work every day and have been wondering if those companies also deliver cloth diapers. My friend’s wife just had a baby and he told me that they go through approx. 12 to 15 disposable diapers a day. Immediately, I thought about the impact that that has to have on the environment. I told him that he should check out cloth diaper delivery companies. He checked the internet and the yellow pages and hasnt found anything. So i figured i would come here and ask if anyone knows about a diaper service in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Also, if anyone knows what it may cost each month to go with a service like that, let me know. If a diaper service costs the same or more than disposables, then im pretty sure that he and his wife won’t bite. Thanks. -Luis

Cloth diapers – Cleaning question?

My 7 month old gets rashes from the chlorine in regular disposable diapers and the chlorine free ones are really expensive so I am looking at switching to cloth. But I’m wondering what kind of stain remover I can use on them since I wont be able to use chlorine bleach. I’ve tried Oxygen bleach (we have 1 cloth diaper for now to try it out) but it doesn’t seem to get the stains out at all. Does anyone know of a good chemical free cleaner that’s good at getting poop stains out?
Also what all do I need to do to clean cloth diapers? Do I need to wash them separately in the washing machine? I’ve heard of people washing them twice, is that really necessary? Am I supposed to soak them in a wet pail until I wash them and should the soak have some soap in it or just water?
Thanks to anyone who can help

Best cloth diapers for chubby babies?

I’ve just transitioned to cloth (yay!)… only wearing the Bumwear and Kushies for now as they were lent to me to try and I don’t really have the budget right now to buy a variety of others that I’d like to try (ie. Bumgenius, FB, G’s, etc… there are so many!). I don’t like the Kushies as they are soo bulky with the wrap, cloth diaper and liner… the Bumwear is better, not as bulky.. but for my 17lbs 3 month old… still kind of bulky. Needless to say, I’m learning that cloth diapering is helplessly bulkier than disposables… but I’m determined to make cloth diapering work for us. So I just wanted to know what cloth diapers work for the chubby babies out there. Thx!
Thanks for the answers so far! Any good Canadian sites out there that sell good fitted cloth diapers?
