what do you think of drybees hybrid diaper? what do you like about the brand you use? favorite websites for baby cloth diapers? we live in a small town and there is no diaper service here. we are not against pins, since I have lots of experience with them, but would like to switch to velcro all in ones or pockets.
Just got to thinking about what cloth diapering is all about. How many diapers would be a good starting point? Is there a standard one size? I am completely clueless about the whole process, shed some light?
-ANY- details about it would be helpful. Thanks.
Are they worth using, in your opinion?
I’ve noticed at Sears — and to be quite honest, the only place I’ve ever actually paid enough attention to notice — they sell Kushies. Any thoughts on these?
Seriously, I am completely uneducated about cloth diapers. I’m thankful for all the advice.
My fiance and I are inquiring about the most reasonable/reliable cloth diaper delivery service here in Walker, MI. We are curious how much/for how many weekly?
Any help is greatly appreciated………….
I’d like to buy some AIO or pocket diapers. But there are so many websites to choose from. Does anyone know which on-line store (Canadian) with the lowest prices?
I am looking for Bum Genius and the like but I want to order through a Canadian site.
My baby gets rashes from the usual poly and nylon cloth diaper covers and most disposable diapers too. Even cloth diapers have to be washed by a service so they’re pH balanced. Wondering if just using wool soakers full time would work, but I don’t like that they’re bulky and expensive. Micro fleece covers would be cheaper and trimmer, but he might be sensitive to that fabric too. Has anyone used both?
I’d be using them with flat cotton diapers.
I am planning on using cloth diapers and have already purchased them. I currently live in an apartment building and trying to figure out the best way to wash them. I know that I have to pre-soak them in cold water. Of course, only after I remove the soil from them first. I was thinking of soaking them in cold water in my bathtub for 30 minutes. After that I would take them downstairs to the laundry mat and put them in the washer with the hot wash setting with very little detergent (1/4 cup). Then I would take them home and hang them to dry.
Would this work??
Also, is powder or liquid detergent better??
Thank you soooo much.
btw the machines in my building don’t have a pre-rinse or final rinse.
We just had a baby and signed up for the diaper cleaning service for our cloth diapers. He have had one deliver so far, so still new, but does anyone have any opinions on the service? Compliments/Complaints? Thank You
I currently have my 4 month old using disposables and I’m thinking about possibly switching to cloth.
What was your start-up cost for buying the diapers, and do you use the velcro pants that go overtop?
Also, what do you find the advantages to be of buying cloth?
We don’t have a diaper service business in my city, so I’d be washing them myself.
What are the disadvantages? Is diaper rash more likely?
My daughter was born 6 weeks early, and I had yet to research my diapering options. Therefore, the quick and easy option at the time was disposables. I’m not certain that I’ll switch now, but at least I’ll be better informed by the time we have a second little baby.
I’m considering a diaper service, they will deliver/pickup 70 cloth diapers every week, the straps are Velcro(using diaper covers) and the cost to get started is 4.08 with taxes, which pays for 8 weeks of service in advance. The monthly bill is roughly (for 4 weeks). Included in cost, a large, closed-lid pail w/liners containing deodorizing disks. And if you call 2 days in advance you can change the quantity(pay less) or size. If I do this, I plan to buy small pack of Wal-mart disposables for emergency/travel purposes. Is this a good or bad idea? has anyone used before? Please help.
I recently posted a question about cloth diapers, and got lots of useful information. Turns out the only kind of cloth diapers I can easily get in our area are g diapers (for which I would use Kushies cloth liners) and Kushies ultra all-in-one diapers. Has anyone used these? Are they any good? My hubby is against cloth diapers so I don’t want to sped alot of money.
Vegan Mommy – very helpful! to clarify – you use the g diaper cloth outside with the prefold cloth liners? What about the reusable plastic part from the g diapers? Also, don’t the prefold cloth liners you buy in bulk (ie. gerber) require diaper pins?
